Following the excitement of the Highland Games there will be an authentic Scottish Ceilidh.

You may well ask, “what is a Ceilidh?”. The English Dictionary defines a ceilidh, from the Gaelic and pronounced kay-lee, as “an informal social gathering, with songs, story-telling, music and dancing”.

The most important thing to know about a ceilidh is that the dances are for everyone to dance to. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never danced before, have two left feet or even three! Everyone is welcome at a ceilidh and you’ll be astonished how hard it is not to end up dancing!

The Aberdeen Highland Games Ceilidh is always a great night out where everyone is welcome, this year’s Ceilidh will include a two-course dinner and light supper, the piping in of and the Address to the Haggis, Old Style and Scottish Country Dancing music, Pipe Band display and Highland Dancers. Pre-purchased tickets are essential and very popular and with limited numbers available don’t delay and risk missing out on this great event.

2021 Aberdeen Highland Games Ceilidh

Due to the limited number of seats available pre-purchased tickets are essential and all bookings for the ceilidh should be done early. Tickets go on sale from 1st March 2020. You may obtain tickets by the following methods,

  1. Online via TryBooking.
  2. Through the Scone Visitor Information Centre.

Whilst there are no real changes to the format of the evening as such it is now possible to book your own tables to ensure that you are sitting with friends or those you wish to be with.

Your ticket will show the number and name, where applicable, of the tables. The Trybooking system will let you know how many seats are available at each table to help you with the booking process. It will also show what tables are not available or are part of a closed group.


Terms and Conditions

  1. Bookings open 1 March 2021, but will not be processed until written confirmation and full payment is received.
  2. Once the initial booking has been made, the issue of additional tickets will depend upon availability and cannot be guaranteed.
  3. If additional tickets are not available, a full refund will be made for previously purchased tickets upon request (dependent on clause 4)
  4. Due to catering reasons no refunds will be given for tickets after 1 June 2021.
  5. Tickets are issued on first come first served basis.
  6. Tickets are limited.  Once the full allocation of tickets is sold no more tickets will be available.
  7. In relation to any disputes, the decision of the Aberdeen Highland Games Committee is final.
  8. Any special dietary requests must be made in writing at the time of booking the Committee and caterers will make all reasonable attempts to accommodate the request but in the event the request cannot be fulfilled a full refund for tickets purchased will be offered provided clause 4 has been satisfied.
